JSC NC KTZ has begun a large-scale modernization of the railway infrastructure on the Kandyagash-Tobol and Kyzylzhar-Saksaulskaya routes. The working commission headed by Deputy Chairman of the Board Talgat Aldybergenov and Director of the Main Network Directorate branch Saken Rakhmetov conducted an inspection tour, covering more than 1,200 km of tracks in the Kostanay, Aktobe, Kyzylorda and Karaganda regions.
The focus is on preparations for the construction of automatic blocking systems and major repairs of railway stations. The inspection covered both large hubs (Tobol, Kandyagash, Sekseul, Zhezkazgan) and small stations (Aitekebi, Nikeltau, Abay, Koskol). The commission discussed working conditions on the ground, personnel shortages, issues of sanitary infrastructure and the readiness of contractors to perform work.

In Zhezkazgan, negotiations were held with the Akimat of the Ulytau region on the reconstruction of the station and with the management of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP on the development of processing capacities at the station. The modernization is aimed at increasing the capacity and reliability of key routes of the country’s railway network.
