Measures to enhance the competitiveness of the TITR and develop transit in Central Asia were discussed in Bishkek.

At the 13th Regional Meeting of National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFC) in Bishkek, representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, together with international experts and development partners, discussed ways to improve the competitiveness of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and promote trade and transit reforms.

The meeting focused on digitalization, paperless trade and the use of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. The working groups considered priority measures to develop logistics, improve transit conditions and optimize trade procedures in the region, which is especially important given the growing role of Central Asia in Eurasian logistics.

The event was supported by the project “Trade Facilitation in Central Asia”, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German government. The initiative is aimed at assisting countries in the region in implementing trade reforms, ensuring transparency and using modern IT solutions to create a more efficient cross-border trade system.
