The Khojaly vessel, owned by the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), entered the Indian Ocean for the first time since its commissioning. This event became a landmark step in the implementation of the company’s strategy to expand the geography of transportation outside the Caspian Sea.

In March 2025, the Handysize vessel loaded 37 thousand tons of soda ash in the American port of Portland and headed across the Pacific Ocean to the port of Jakarta (Indonesia). After partial unloading, the Khojaly passed through the Strait of Malacca and continues moving towards India, where stops are planned in the ports of Kattupalli and Kandla.

The Khojaly was built and commissioned in May 2024. The vessel has a deadweight of 38,593 tons, is 180 meters long and is designed for unlimited navigation. This flight demonstrates ASCO’s growing ambitions in international logistics and the company’s desire to strengthen its presence on global routes.
