HHLA PLT Italy and Maersk are strengthening their partnership by launching the new weekly sea service E17, the first vessel of which has already arrived in the port of Trieste. The route connects Port Said, Trieste and Venice, strengthening the logistics network in the Mediterranean and confirming the strategic importance of the port of Trieste for the region.
The line will be served by the modern vessels Nora Maersk, Maersk Valletta and Maersk Valparaíso. With Trieste as the first port of call after Egypt, the HHLA PLT Italy terminal strengthens its position in handling refrigerated cargo, especially fruit and vegetables destined for Central and Eastern Europe. To meet the growing demand, the company is already expanding its cold chain infrastructure and strengthening veterinary and sanitary controls directly at the terminal.
The service also includes the transshipment of part of the containers onto barges for further delivery to the ports of Ancona and Ravenna. This solution optimizes logistics along the Adriatic coast, reduces delivery times and strengthens the resilience of supply chains in the Eastern Mediterranean.
