Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan discussed the development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor.

A round table was held in Baku with the participation of the leadership of the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA IGC, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of Kazakhstan, experts, representatives of transport associations and logistics companies of both countries. The participants discussed the key challenges and priorities for the development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor in the context of the active restoration of intracontinental routes.

TRACECA Secretary General Asset Asavbayev emphasized the importance of the transport interconnectivity of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, ensuring the uninterrupted movement of goods between the regions. He noted that cooperation between TRACECA and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) plays an important role in the sustainable development of logistics infrastructure. According to him, coordinated interaction between government agencies and the private sector will effectively address transport policy issues.

The meeting discussed the prospects for cargo transportation between China and Europe via Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, tariff policy, elimination of bottlenecks and plans for 2024. In conclusion, the participants confirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation, improve the regulatory framework and coordinate joint actions to create a sustainable transport corridor.
