The development of the Middle Corridor and digitalization of freight transportation were discussed in Baku.

The General Assembly of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR) was held in Baku. Delegations from 10 countries took part in the meeting, including heads of railway administrations of the participating countries and representatives of leading transport and logistics companies.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening the position of the Middle Corridor as a key element of the regional transport network. Participants noted that thanks to the joint efforts of the TITR countries, it was possible to significantly increase the efficiency of cargo transportation through the integration of modern analytical systems and real-time cargo tracking services. The introduction of the Digital Trade Corridor digital platform from the Singapore company Global DTC and the Fast Customs system made it possible to increase the transparency of operations and strengthen control mechanisms.

One of the key issues was increasing the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line from 1 to 5 million tons per year, as well as the resumption of freight traffic along this route. The association representatives discussed measures to speed up logistics processes, ensure cargo safety, agree on tariffs and increase transportation speed. These steps will meet the needs of all participants and strengthen the Middle Corridor’s position in the international market.

A report of the TITR Development Working Group on approved tariffs for 2025 was presented at the meeting. Plans for cargo transportation for the current year were also approved, and as part of the further expansion of the association’s activities, a decision was made to open its representative office in the Chinese city of Xi’an.

The assembly ended with the signing of the final protocol and agreements on the development of feeder transportation between the ports of the Caspian Sea. The event was followed by the forum “Middle Corridor through the Caspian Sea”, where experts discussed the prospects of maritime logistics and further steps for its development.
