China has expressed interest in expanding freight transportation by road through Kazakhstan to Europe. In 2023, the countries transferred the process of exchanging permits to an electronic format, which allowed doubling the number of trips. The Kazakh side proposed holding a second meeting of the transport ministers of Central Asia and China to further develop regional logistics.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a corresponding protocol, securing agreements on the development of the route and the growth of transportation volumes.
