The opening ceremony of the international container terminal HHIT (Hateco Hai Phong International Container Port) was held in the port of Hai Phong (Vietnam). The first vessel to arrive at the new terminal was the container ship ESL Dubai. HHIT, located in the Lach Huyen area, is the largest and most modern deep-water container complex in northern Vietnam, capable of receiving vessels of international shipping lines.
The terminal occupies an area of 73 hectares and is equipped with two berths with a total length of 900 meters, with depths from 16.8 to 18.4 meters. This allows for the simultaneous handling of two large container ships with a capacity of up to 18 thousand TEU, a deadweight of up to 200 thousand tons and a length of up to 400 meters. Such infrastructure significantly expands the capabilities of the port of Hai Phong in the field of international container logistics.
HHIT uses advanced technologies to optimize handling operations. The terminal is equipped with modern gantry cranes that handle up to 24 rows of containers, electric rubber-tired cranes, NAVIS N4 control system, optical character recognition (OCR) technology and 5G network. The new terminal will become a key hub for container transit in Southeast Asia.
