ELP expands use of hybrid locomotives in Europe.

The European rail logistics market is actively adapting to modern requirements, and more and more operators, including state-owned companies, are relying on versatile six-axle hybrid locomotives. The European Loc Pool (ELP) is successfully expanding its customer base by leasing Euro Dual and Euro 9000 locomotives from Stadler Rail.

ELP’s customers already include RCG, VPS, Green Cargo, MEG, DB Cargo and Cargo Net. These modern locomotives allow the transportation of heavier and longer trains, increasing the payload by 40%. They are suitable for both electrified and non-electrified lines, also providing shunting and terminal operations.

According to ELP, such locomotives are becoming a key element for operators seeking to improve transport efficiency and adapt to new standards of flexibility and environmental friendliness in the rail industry.
