Latvian airline airBaltic has announced the cancellation of 4,670 flights in the 2025 summer season. The reasons for the cancellations are delays and prolonged maintenance of Airbus A220-300 aircraft engines by supplier Pratt & Whitney. Due to this, several aircraft will remain grounded, forcing the airline to adjust its schedule, including canceling 19 routes and reducing flight frequencies.

These changes will affect 67,160 passengers. Among the cancelled flights was the popular Riga-Rzeszow route, opened in October 2024 as an alternative for Ukrainians during the closed airspace. Despite the difficulties, airBaltic will continue to operate more than 70 routes in Europe and beyond. The airline offers rebooking or full refunds to passengers of the affected flights.

AirBaltic is working with Pratt & Whitney to resolve the issue and find a long-term solution. Customers can check the status of their flights on the official website. The company regrets any inconvenience caused and assures its support to all affected passengers.
