As part of its 2022-2030 development strategy, ASCO has added a new Aframax tanker to its fleet, acquired from Capital Maritime and Trading Corp. The vessel, which meets modern environmental and safety standards, has a deadweight of 115,500 tons, a length of 249.95 meters and a speed of up to 16 knots.
The purchase was financed by ASCO’s profits, bond placement and local bank loans. The tanker was transferred to a three-year time charter to the Brazilian company Petrobras and has already completed its maiden voyage, delivering oil from Brazil to Singapore and Malaysia. The next voyage from Malaysia to Saudi Arabia is scheduled for the coming days.
Since 2023, ASCO has commissioned seven large-capacity vessels, including five Aframax tankers and two Handysize dry cargo ships. Expanding the international geography of transportation remains a priority for the company, which continues to contribute to the country’s economy through the export of shipping services.
