In January 2025, Rhenus Logistics AG will open a state-of-the-art logistics center in Möchlin (canton Aargau), Switzerland. The new facility will be a major step towards increasing the efficiency and sustainability of cargo handling in the Basel region, the country’s key logistics hub. The center is equipped with 30 P40 Geek+ robots and seven RoboShuttles, which will speed up the processing of 30,000 containers by up to 70%, while running on clean energy.
On an area of 2,000 square meters, employees and robots will work together to perform tasks that meet the highest industry standards. Special rooms in the center will allow temperature-controlled goods and hazardous goods to be stored in strict compliance with safety requirements. A photovoltaic system with an annual capacity of 1 million kWh will supply the facility with green energy, reducing emissions and increasing autonomy.
“Our new logistics center in Möhlin (Canton Aargau) is an impressive example of modern logistics: more automation and greater efficiency while retaining jobs, and promoting sustainability targets and quality”, – said Rhenus Alpina CEO Andreas Stöckli.
