Dublin-based international aviation holding Avia Solutions Group has placed its first direct order for 80 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, comprising 40 firm orders and 40 purchase options. The deal is a key step in the company’s strategy to increase capacity to meet high airline demand for additional aircraft during peak seasons.
According to Avia Solutions Group Chairman Gediminas Zemelis, ACMI (wet leasing) allows airlines to effectively manage seasonal fluctuations in passenger traffic without long-term financial commitments.
“We carry more than 35 million passengers annually for our customers, and this order will be an important step in developing our fleet, increasing fuel efficiency and operational flexibility,” – Gediminas Zemelis said.
Deliveries of the new aircraft will begin in 2030. Avia Solutions Group currently operates a fleet of 220 aircraft, including 14 Boeing 737-8, and has a network of 11 Airline Operator Certificates (AOCs), which enable the company to provide services in over 60 countries. The holding includes over 250 businesses, such as FL Technics (aircraft maintenance), BAA Training (pilot training) and Aviator & BGS (ground handling), and its team consists of 14,000 professionals.
