RCG launches direct service between Serbia and Croatia.

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has announced the expansion of its TransNET network by launching a new direct connection between Serbia and Croatia. This connection between two key freight hubs will improve logistics between the countries and simplify the transport of goods.

In 2023, RCG strengthened its position in the Western Balkans by opening a freight forwarding company in Belgrade, and in 2024, a freight forwarding company was founded together with one of the leading freight forwarding companies in the region, Transfera d.o.o.

The new TransFER route connects the Nelt container terminal, located near Belgrade and important industrial centers, with the Adriatic Gate container terminal in Rijeka, the largest port in Croatia, through which about 70% of the cargo between Serbia and other regions passes. With a direct connection to the Serbian rail network, RCG will be able to make freight transport more efficient and reduce transit times, allowing customers to optimize their logistics processes and take advantage of new opportunities in the region.
