The future of the Ukrainian oil and fat industry lies in deep processing. This was emphasized by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval during his welcome speech at the XXII International Conference “Fat-and-Oil Industry-2024”, which is being held on October 30 in Kyiv.
The minister told the participants of the event about the priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy: European integration, opening of new markets, support for farmers in the frontline territories, development of animal husbandry and deep processing.
According to him, the oil industry leads in the direction of deep processing and takes a significant share of the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
««Oil industry participants» are already leaders in the field of processing and export. In particular, the export share of oilseeds is 12.3%, and sunflower oil is 21%. But it is important not to stop there. The added value in each ton of export must exceed the cost of raw materials. The world needs high-tech products, and it is important for us to transform Ukraine from an agrarian to an agro-industrial country», – V. Koval noted.
