DACHSER plans to equip 200 of its vehicles in Germany with state-of-the-art SCALAR devices from ZF Friedrichshafen by the end of 2024. These devices help drivers to optimize their driving style, reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. As part of the climate strategy, DACHSER and its trainers train its own drivers and those of its partners in fuel-efficient driving, which helps to reduce diesel consumption by four liters per 100 km and reduce emissions by an average of 12%.

SCALAR Connectivity Devices read data from all types of vehicles – from diesel to electric and hydrogen – and allow drivers to analyze their driving style via a special app. In combination with training, this not only helps to increase energy efficiency, but also to extend the service life of the vehicles.

DACHSER is continuing to roll out the training concept throughout Germany. At three pilot sites, the company has already trained 33 partner drivers. The programme will cover all German subsidiaries and will strengthen DACHSER’s position in the field of sustainable logistics and environmental responsibility.
