From 1 April 2025, all bunker operators at the Port of Singapore will be required to provide services digitally, with Bunker Delivery Notes (BDNs) issued exclusively electronically. This makes Singapore the first port in the world to embrace digitalisation across all bunker operations.
The port has already conducted pilot projects with 10 major operators to implement the new standards. According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the use of digital technology will simplify administrative processes, improve transparency and compliance, and reduce the risk of errors and fraud.
Singapore remains a leader among global bunker hubs not only in fuel sales volumes but also in the implementation of advanced technologies.
