DP World has added two new vessels to its fleet. The new containerships Navios Utmost and Navios Unite were officially named at a ceremony at Changhong Shipyard in China. Both vessels are part of DP World’s Unifeeder fleet renewal plan, aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs and testing alternative fuels.
Navios Utmost and Navios Unite are compact Sapphire 5300 containerships that feature advanced technologies to improve cargo handling and reduce operating costs. They also feature hull optimisation systems and energy-saving technologies that will reduce carbon emissions by 15-20% through fuel savings. Navios Utmost will be deployed on the Far East Madras Express service, while Navios Unite will be deployed on the Asian Gulf India Service.
These vessels support DP World’s commitment to fleet modernisation and facilitate regional trade. Unifeeder has also recently signed long-term charter agreements for methanol-capable vessels and has implemented energy efficiency initiatives, including the GreenBox solution to decarbonise shipping.
