A meeting was held in Abay region with the participation of the management of JSC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) and shippers of the region, where they discussed ensuring stable transportation both on the domestic market and for export. In particular, in the first seven months of 2024, loading in the region exceeded 6.1 million tons, of which 4.8 million tons were shipped domestically, which is 4% more than last year. Exports amounted to 1.3 million tons.
Special attention was paid to providing solid fuel to thermal power plants and the population of the region. Representatives of KTZ, together with the Akimat, monitor coal reserves at all thermal power plants in the region, where a sufficient amount of fuel has currently been accumulated. In the first seven months of 2024, 3.3 million tons of coal were shipped from the Karazhyra coal mine.
The railway workers also implemented uninterrupted movement of heavy trains on the Degelen – Aksu-1 – Semey section, which made it possible to increase the efficiency of locomotive use. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of coordinated actions to further improve the transportation process.
