The volume of cargo and baggage transportation by sea and coastal transport in Kazakhstan for January-July 2024 reached 1.6 million tons, which is more than twice as much as the same period last year.
This significant growth exceeded the annual volumes of sea transport over the past five years, reaching a level only seen before 2014.
The main contribution to the increase in transportation volumes was made by the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), linking China and Europe via Kazakhstan. Within this route, the Kazakh ports of Kuryk and Aktau are actively used, ensuring effective interaction between rail and sea transport.
