On August 6, Talgat Lesov, Acting CEO of KAZLOGISTICS, attended a briefing on the logistics market and key business links between Hong Kong and Kazakhstan. The event discussed the opportunities that Hong Kong offers as a leading logistics and supply chain hub.
Hong Kong is known for its highly developed logistics services, including air, land and sea transportation. A global leader in cargo transportation, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) handled 4.3 million tonnes of cargo in 2023, while the Port of Hong Kong (HKP) handled 14.4 million TEU containers. Hong Kong is also a leading maritime services hub, offering a wide range of services from port services to international arbitration.
In addition, the recent construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) has significantly improved land transportation, reducing transportation times between key points. Hong Kong continues to strengthen its position as an important international aviation and maritime hub, as well as a strategic logistics hub under the Belt and Road Initiative.
