The transport ministers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed joint projects

Important negotiations between the transport ministers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan focused on joint projects. Marat Karabaev and Ilkhom Makhkamov discussed a wide range of cooperation, including the construction of new transport corridors and infrastructure modernization. One of the key projects was the Darbaza – Maktaaral railway line, which will increase the capacity between the countries by 10 million tons.

Kazakhstan also expressed support for the Uzbek initiative to build the Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway, preparing to participate in the project by providing materials for the superstructure of the tracks. At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a Roadmap for 2024-2025, outlining strategic cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.
