In collaboration with our global partners, we’ve sealed two pivotal agreements marking a new era in the development of a green hydrogen corridor between the Spanish port of Bilbao and Amsterdam.

The first agreement, a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) between Petronor, EnBW, GasLog, and Port of Amsterdam, aims to assess the feasibility of a liquid hydrogen corridor between Bilbao and Amsterdam. GasLog is pioneering specialized vessels for hydrogen transportation, while EnBW and Port of Amsterdam focus on securing off takers in the North Sea Canal Area. Meanwhile, the second agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Petronor/Repsol, KLM, and Port of Amsterdam, explores synthetic aviation fuel production in Bilbao, with Repsol as the producer and KLM as a potential customer.

Port of Amsterdam also celebrates a third agreement: an MoU between Evos and Spanish company CEPSA, delving into hydrogen transportation from southern Spain via various vectors. Evos plans to utilize Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) for efficient transport in Amsterdam. These collaborations underscore Port of Amsterdam’s commitment to bolstering ties with hydrogen producers, essential for meeting increasing demand and reducing CO2 emissions in the transition to renewable energy.
