Kazphosphate LLP is a unique company in Kazakhstan, engaged in a full production cycle from mining to processing of phosphorites. At the Kazakhstan Transport and Logistics Forum, Erbol Aksakalov, Director of the Transport and Logistics Department of Kazphosphate LLP, raised the topic of the role of the mineral fertilizer market in the development of transit potential, and also described the experience of Kazphosphate in the development of railway infrastructure and cargo transportation.
The company’s main activities include geological exploration, mining and processing of phosphorites, production and sale of fertilizers, as well as yellow phosphorus and phosphoric acid. The company’s structure includes its own railway transport complex with a fleet of 26 locomotives and 885 cars.
The company exports its products to the CIS countries, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Baltic states, Turkey, China, India and Brazil. Last year, the volume of transportation amounted to 601 thousand tons, with such main buyers as Uzbekistan, Russia, the Baltic states and Turkey. The shipment included various modes of transport, with more than half of the cargo carried in covered wagons.
The company’s plans include the construction of a plant on the basis of the Zhanatas industrial zone with a production capacity of up to 5 million tons of fertilizers per year. Despite competition from countries with access to the open sea, the company is ready to develop, cooperate and achieve new results.
