Antwerp Port hits 60% usage milestone with CPu Data Platform

In a significant leap forward in the digital evolution of container handling and transport, 60% of the daily containers processed at Antwerp’s deep-sea terminals now utilize the Certified Pick up (CPu) data platform. This marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing digitalization of the logistics chain involving ship agents, terminals, transport companies, and customs services. With around 2,500 containers handled daily, the CPu platform contributes to a safer, more transparent, and efficient container process. The phased implementation allows users to register gradually, ensuring a smoother transition, and the system’s performance is continuously monitored and refined based on user feedback.

As the rollout progresses successfully, the next step will involve additional users migrating to CPu over the coming weeks, with the aim of achieving full deployment by the end of January. Collaboration with the port community remains crucial throughout this transition, urging stakeholders such as shipping companies, ship agents, terminals, forwarders, logistics companies, barge and rail operators, and trucking companies to register and transfer pick-up rights. The platform has already garnered registrations from nearly 3,500 companies, with two-thirds being international entities, totaling 16,000 unique users. The collective effort is propelling the Antwerp port towards a more streamlined and digitally integrated container handling landscape.
