The company achieved an operating profit of PLN 90.8 million (approx. EUR 20.7 million) and closed the period with a net loss of PLN 10.4 million (about EUR 2.4 million). This is a major shift compared with the same period in 2024, when both operating and net results were close to minus PLN 800 million (around EUR 182.4 million).
In the third quarter alone, PKP CARGO posted an operating profit of PLN 36.1 million (about EUR 8.2 million) and a net profit of PLN 7.5 million (around EUR 1.7 million).
Revenue from customer contracts for the nine-month period reached PLN 2,764.2 million (approx. EUR 630 million). UTK statistics show that after three quarters of 2025, the Group held 27.06% of Poland’s freight volume market share and 25.82% in transport performance.
As part of its restructuring measures, the company sold 6,696 decommissioned wagons, generating PLN 123.3 million (about EUR 28.1 million). Court approval was also obtained for the sale of several real-estate assets in Warsaw, Szczecin, Wrocław and Jaworzyna. According to the company, these steps are intended to support liquidity and align assets more closely with revenue-generating activity.
PKP CARGO states that the restructuring effort focuses on organizational changes and the concentration of resources on business areas with stronger returns, including intermodal transport and specialised freight services.
