During the talks, measures to increase bilateral freight flows and reduce train waiting times at the border were discussed in detail. Separate discussions included simplifying procedures for receiving Kazakh grain in China, developing border and port infrastructure, and launching the construction of second tracks on the Alashankou-Dostyk section. The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for opening the new Bakhty-Tachen railway line, including the potential range of cargoes to be transported.

It was noted that Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its status as a key land bridge between East and West, providing China with stable access to markets in Europe, the Middle East, and the Caspian region. Following joint efforts, in 2025, the volume of rail freight between the two countries increased by 11% to reach 35.6 million tons. The parties attach particular importance to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route: in 2025, container transit along the TITR increased by 15% to 36,000 TEUs, confirming the strategic importance of this corridor for regional and intercontinental logistics.
