Shipping company CLdN announced the launch of a new weekly LoLo container service between the Rotterdam Distriport terminal and the port of Leixões (Porto), Portugal. This decision is in response to growing customer demand and aims to expand the company’s presence on the Atlantic route. The new service will complement the existing two weekly round-trip RoRo services between Rotterdam/Zeebrugge and Leixões.
CLdN notes that the simultaneous use of container vessels and RoRo fleets on longer routes is part of the company’s strategic plan, presented in 2024. This model allows for greater operational flexibility, increased departure frequency, and more sustainable logistics solutions for customers.
The operating model of the new LoLo service also ensures further reductions in CO₂ emissions per unit of cargo. The service is scheduled to launch on Sunday, January 25, with detailed schedules and terminal information to be communicated to customers in the coming days.
