KTZ Express and Pakistan’s logistics company NLC have agreed to develop multimodal transportation.

KTZ Express JSC and National Logistics Corporation, Pakistan’s state-owned logistics company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing multimodal transportation and strengthening transport and logistics ties between the two countries. The document was signed during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and represents an important practical step in expanding bilateral cooperation in logistics.

The agreement aims to foster sustainable freight flows in the North-South direction and develop the transit potential of Kazakhstan and Pakistan. Grain and its processed products, coal, fertilizers, metals, chemical products, and lumber are considered promising cargo bases. The parties plan to tap into key markets in both countries and create competitive logistics routes to service these flows.

Through their cooperation, KTZ Express and NLC intend to comprehensively utilize the infrastructure and transit capabilities of the two countries, building effective multimodal solutions involving various modes of transport and ensuring return loading. This will reduce empty runs, optimize routes, and lower overall logistics costs. The signing of the memorandum reflects the parties’ commitment to a long-term strategic partnership based on the combined infrastructure and logistics expertise of JSC NC KTZ and National Logistics Corporation.
