Georgia joined the International Association “Eurasian Transport Route”.

During a visit to Tashkent, Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, met with Zufar Narzullaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways, and Lasha Abashidze, CEO of Georgian Railways. Following the talks, a decision was made for Georgia to join the International Association “Eurasian Transport Route.”

Expanding the membership is expected to boost freight traffic along the Eurasian Transport Route, which is the southern branch of the Middle Corridor, and will also facilitate deeper regional cooperation. The parties specifically noted the route’s significant potential for east-west transportation following the completion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

The International Association “Eurasian Transport Route” was established on September 20, 2024, in Baku at the initiative of Azerbaijan. Its key objectives are attracting transit cargo, developing integrated logistics solutions, and optimizing transport processes. Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Association strengthens ADY’s position as a key regional operator and cements the country’s role as a strategic dispatch center for transit management on the southern branch of the Middle Corridor.
