cargo-partner strengthens sustainable logistics by expanding its partnership with HHLA Pure.

Cargo-Partner, a member of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., continues to implement its environmental strategy by extending its partnership with the HHLA Pure initiative. Developed by Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) in collaboration with METRANS, the program ensures zero-CO₂ container transportation through energy-efficient rail transport and electrified terminals. Remaining unavoidable emissions are offset through Gold Standard-certified climate projects.

In 2025, Cargo-Partner ensured climate-neutral transportation of 13,349 TEUs in three Central and Eastern European countries. The largest volume, 6,140 TEUs, was in Hungary, reducing emissions by approximately 407.5 tonnes of CO₂, equivalent to the annual absorption of over 18,300 trees. In Slovakia, 3,678 TEU were transported under the HHLA Pure program, saving approximately 71.6 t of CO₂, while in the Czech Republic, 3,531 TEU were transported, representing a reduction of 66.7 t of CO₂. These figures reflect the effectiveness of low-emission rail corridors from key European hubs, as well as the role of strategic assets such as cargo-partner’s warehouse in Dunajská Streda, which has a direct connection to the METRANS container terminal.

In addition to participating in HHLA Pure, cargo-partner is also developing other sustainable logistics initiatives, including the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel, facility modernization, and resource efficiency improvements across its network. The company consistently aligns its warehouses with modern environmental requirements and offers customers transport solutions with a minimal carbon footprint, reaffirming its commitment to the principles of environmentally responsible logistics.
