Hitachi Rail announced an agreement to acquire Clever Devices, a leading US-based provider of digital solutions for fleet management, passenger service quality, and public transport efficiency. The company’s technologies also improve passenger information accuracy and schedule compliance.
Clever Devices is headquartered in Woodbury, New York, USA, and also has offices in Europe and South America. Its revenue is expected to exceed $220 million in 2026, underscoring the significant scale of the acquired company.
The transaction will enable Hitachi Rail to accelerate the digital transformation of rail and urban transport by integrating Clever Devices’ technologies into the HMAX Mobility platform. The combined solutions will create a unified ecosystem for managing train operations, signaling systems, and infrastructure in real time, enabling more efficient transportation management.
