Hannibal has launched a new rail service between Italy and the port of Rotterdam.

Logistics company Hannibal has announced the launch of a new rail service connecting the Melzo inland terminal (Rail Hub Milano) in Italy with the Europoort Rotterdam terminal in the Netherlands. The company noted that the new route will expand logistics capabilities in Northern Europe and strengthen integration into European transport corridors.

The Europoort Rotterdam terminal is a key node in international supply chains, facilitating seamless interaction between rail and maritime transport. By combining rail routes with short-sea and deep-sea connections, the service opens up new opportunities for multimodal transport between Italy and Northern Europe.

The launch of this new route also completes the establishment of an operational presence for Hannibal and its parent company, Contships, across all major terminals in the Port of Rotterdam, including Moerdijk, RSC, Botlek, and Europoort. This will enable the group to utilize the port as a cargo consolidation and distribution hub for the Benelux countries, Germany, the UK, and other strategically important markets in Northern Europe.
