The Governor of the Masovian Voivodeship has issued a location decision to the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) company for the eastern railway hub of the future national airport, part of the Port Polska program. The document has been granted immediate enforceability, allowing the operator to begin the process of obtaining construction permits for the railway and associated infrastructure, as well as to designate new land parcels for inclusion in the investment zone.

The project entails the creation of both railway and road components for the hub. The railway infrastructure will integrate lines No. 5, 85, and 88, connecting the new airport station with both existing and planned routes. Concurrently, plans include the construction of new roads, the reconstruction of the current network, and the decommissioning of certain existing structures. The new road infrastructure is designed to ensure safe traffic flow and access to railway service facilities, freight terminals, and passenger areas, while maintaining connectivity for local roads. The investment project covers an area of 212 hectares across the municipalities of Baranów and Grodzisk Mazowiecki; nearly 40% of this land has already been acquired through the voluntary property acquisition program.

The eastern hub will form part of the high-speed railway line No. 85, connecting the airport to Warsaw and Łódź. Design work for the main line is funded with European Union support, and all infrastructure being developed will meet dual-use requirements, enabling it to serve both civil and military purposes. The Port Polska program, implemented by CPK, involves the construction of a modern transport complex between Warsaw and Łódź, comprising a new airport and a high-speed rail network. In its initial phase, the airport will have the capacity to handle up to 34 million passengers annually, with the potential for further expansion based on demand.
