The work is taking place in active sections of the railway in the Jonava area. The new 17.1-kilometer section will continue the 29.2 km of tracks already under construction towards Panevezys. Eurovia Lietuva has already carried out work on Rail Baltica, building 16 access roads and 2 service roads along the future high-speed highway.

“The procurement for the construction of the 18.9 km section is also in its final stage, and we are planning to launch the procurement for another 12.1 km section soon. Both LTG Infra and the Rail Baltica project team are actively working to expand the geography of works in Lithuania,” said Vytis Žalimas, CEO of LTG Infra.

The section is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. The project is financed by the European Union and the Lithuanian state budget.
