UAE port and logistics operator AD Ports has acquired a 60% stake in the Tbilisi Dry Port logistics complex in the Georgian capital, according to an agreement with project initiator Inveco. The complex is expected to begin operations in October, with direct rail links to the ports of Poti and Batumi, 335 km and 380 km away, respectively.
Once completed, the complex’s container terminal will be able to handle up to 300,000 TEU, significantly strengthening AD Ports’ position in the region. The company is actively expanding its presence in Central Asian countries, including in projects related to the Trans-Caspian Transit Corridor.
The Tbilisi Dry Port will become a key logistics hub on this corridor, linking China and Europe via Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania, facilitating the development of transport links between the regions.
