Romanian logistics company Aquila has announced that it is expanding its operations by acquiring the Hungarian distribution company Kitax, which specializes in hygiene products, consumables and workplace safety equipment. The deal strengthens Aquila’s position in the region and opens up its second foreign market after Moldova.
Aquila CEO Cătălin Vasile noted that the purchase of Kitax is part of the company’s growth strategy, which has already completed four similar transactions in recent years. Kitax founders Ida and Stefan Özsvald will continue to be involved in the management of the business to ensure a smooth transition and further development.
Kitax operates throughout Hungary, with a well-developed logistics infrastructure, a 3,000 sq. m warehouse and more than 400 suppliers worldwide.
