Vessels of ASCO, a part of AZCON Holding, have completed dredging operations in the waters and approach channel of the Baku Shipyard. The project was implemented by order of the enterprise itself in order to improve the conditions for receiving and maneuvering large-tonnage vessels.
Specialized ASCO vessels participated in the work: the dredger “Mukhendis Balyarza Mamedov”, the barges “Bakinskaya-3” and “Bakinskaya-5”, as well as the tugboat “Apsheronskaya-5”. In three months, 80,000 m² of water surface were processed, the bottom was deepened by 1 meter – to a total depth of 9 meters. 79,000 cubic meters of bottom sediments were removed from the water area.
The implementation of the project has significantly improved the hydrographic characteristics of the water area, ensuring safe navigation and mooring for new generation vessels, which in turn increases the strategic role of the Baku Shipyard in the region’s maritime industry.
