Dublin-based Avia Solutions Group (ASG), the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services provider, has announced the opening of its first Global Services Centre in Manila, Philippines. Scheduled to open in January 2025, the centre will support the technical and flight operations of the group’s airlines, as well as MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) activities. In addition, the centre will house corporate functions including IT, finance, payroll and administration.
The Philippines was chosen due to the high level of local talent and its advantageous geographic location. Southeast Asia is one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets, with Boeing projecting traffic growth of 8% per annum over 20 years. The region is key to ASG’s expansion, including obtaining an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in the country. The Manila centre will be part of the company’s global expansion strategy, which has already opened airlines in Thailand, Indonesia and Australia.
The center will operate 24 hours a day, providing support to more than 250 ASG subsidiaries operating on six continents and comprising 14,000 employees.
