CEVA Logistics has launched its first international TIR centre in Alashankou, China, on the border with Kazakhstan. The new 4,300 sqm logistics hub is located in the E-Commerce Industrial Park within the Comprehensive Customs Zone and includes an additional 1,000 sqm area for handling hazardous goods. Local authorities attended the opening of the centre, emphasizing the importance of the project for the region.
The new TIR centre will serve as a key consolidation point for CEVA’s international road transport, both for export and import. Using the LTL (less than truck load) model, customers will be able to share space in trucks and reduce transport costs. Combined with the TIR system, this allows for delivery times to be accelerated by almost 30% and costs to be reduced by an average of 15% compared to conventional road transport.
The Alashankou hub will serve as the foundation for a robust and fast TIR network spanning some 30 cities in 15 countries in Central Asia, the Caucasus and Europe, giving CEVA Logistics a strong foothold in the growing Eurasian market.
