CF&S: New routes, the Northern Sea Route, and carriers’ return to Suez shape a renewed global shipping map.

Global container shipping continues to undergo rapid transformation, opening up new opportunities for shippers, and CF&S is supporting clients through these changes. A significant milestone was the completion of the Sea Legend’s voyage from China to Northern Europe via the Northern Sea Route in just 20 days – significantly faster than traditional routes through the Suez Canal or around the Cape of Good Hope. At the same time, carriers are reassessing their service networks: Interasia Lines, Namsung, OOCL, and Shanghai Jin Jiang have joined the FCS3/SJJ route, while Sinokor has reallocated capacity to the FIX/IFX2/CIE service in partnership with SeaLead, Sinotrans, and T.S. Lines.

Activation is also being seen on other routes. MSC launched a new Cheetah service, linking Singapore, Colombo, and Mozambique, and adjusted its Western Mediterranean – Greece/Turkey service with additional calls at Sines and Piraeus. ONE expanded its presence on the Persian Gulf – Indian Subcontinent route by launching the IG3 service between Jebel Ali and Indian ports, while DP World launched a Dubai – Gulf of Aden service. In the Red Sea, Folk Maritime launched an SCS service with regular calls at the port of Neom, strengthening the connection between Saudi Arabia and Sudan.

The Suez Canal deserves special attention: Egypt announced a phased return of major container lines after months of disruption. The first step was a strategic agreement with Maersk, followed by controlled test passages; CMA CGM is preparing two trial voyages on the Europe – Far East route. With ever-changing routes, CF&S provides seamless cargo support: from operations in all Baltic ports and consolidation to customs clearance and last-mile delivery, offering reliable solutions for both FCL and LCL shipments between Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
