DACHSER has signed a lease for a new warehouse and cross-dock for food logistics in Waddinxwijn, near Rotterdam. The new facility, which will begin operations in the third quarter of 2025, will cover 16,330 square metres, including office space, and will create around 50 new jobs. The warehouse will feature three temperature zones – dry, refrigerated and frozen – as well as 45 loading and unloading gates on three sides of the building to improve operational efficiency.
“We are pleased to have been able to open this facility earlier than expected thanks to the relocation of Lekkerland,” said Aat van de Meer, Managing Director of DACHSER Benelux.
The new warehouse will bring DACHSER European Logistics and Food Logistics under one roof, creating conditions for close cooperation. This is the first time that both business lines in the Netherlands will operate from one centre, opening up new opportunities and strengthening the synergies between the partners DACHSER and Müller Fresh Food Logistics.
The building, which was built in 1997, will be completely renovated in line with DACHSER corporate standards, with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. Solar panels have already been installed on the roof, and all office and warehouse areas will be equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, in line with the company’s environmental priorities.
