DB Cargo Polska signed a joint letter of intent with Alstom to establish a new locomotive service center in Rybnik. The center will complement Alstom’s existing facilities in Toruń and will enable efficient maintenance and repair of Traxx locomotives, as well as other diesel and electric models. According to Marek Staszek, CEO of DB Cargo Polska, the project demonstrates the strengthening of international cooperation and Poland’s growing role on the European railway map.
The new center will provide customers with maximum rolling stock availability, prompt maintenance, and reliable planning—all in one location. Services will include locomotive maintenance and overhauls, the use of energy-efficient technologies, and reduced downtime thanks to modern service stations.
Beata Rusinowicz, CEO of Alstom in Poland, emphasized that the creation of the center meets the growing demand for comprehensive service solutions. According to her, the partnership with DB Cargo Polska will improve the quality of service and directly enhance the work of rail transport operators.
