DHL Freight has opened a new terminal in Berlin.

DHL Freight has officially opened its new logistics terminal in Berlin’s Marienfelde district. The modern 5,200 m2 complex with 48 loading bays replaces the previous terminal, which had reached its capacity limit. Its central location and environmentally friendly technology make the facility an important logistics hub for the region. The opening ceremony was attended by business and political representatives, including DHL Freight executives and project partners.

The terminal is built in line with DHL’s sustainability strategy. The company’s fleet is switching to alternative fuels: electric forklifts, natural gas trucks and electric tractors are already in use for the “last mile”. The complex is equipped with energy-efficient technologies, from heat pumps and LED lighting to rainwater collection tanks. The site has charging stations powered by renewable energy sources, as well as solar panels and wind turbines.

The project strengthens DHL Freight’s European network and increases the efficiency of transport in the region. The terminal in Marienfeld, along with the company’s other facility in Wustermark, will be a key location for testing innovative logistics solutions and improving customer service in Berlin and beyond.
