DP World recorded record container volumes in 2024, handling 88.3 million TEU, up 8.3% year-on-year. Despite macroeconomic challenges and the Red Sea crisis, the company’s global logistics network, spanning 78 countries and with a capacity of over 100 million TEU, delivered solid growth thanks to long-term investments in infrastructure and the addition of new services.
The Posorja terminal in Ecuador saw the biggest increase, increasing volumes by 87% to almost 1 million TEU. Double-digit growth was also recorded at San Antonio (Chile), Yarimce (Turkey), Chennai (India), Callao (Peru), Antwerp (Belgium) and London Gateway (UK). The flagship port of Jebel Ali (UAE) handled 7% more containers than in 2023.
The additional 1 million TEU was achieved by new terminals including DP World-Evyap in Turkey, the Port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Belawan New Container Terminal in Indonesia. This record highlights the strength of DP World’s diversified portfolio and the company’s ability to adapt to changing global market conditions.
