ERSAI Industrial Port has begun implementing a strategic dredging project for the waters and approach channel of the port of Kuryk, aimed at increasing operational depths to five meters and ensuring stable navigation throughout the year. The project is fully financed by the company’s own funds and is considered a key step in the development of port infrastructure in the Caspian Sea.
In preparation for the project, ERSAI invested in the construction of its own ERSAI 5 Cutter Suction Dredger, allowing the company to independently control the timing, quality, and cost of dredging operations. The work is scheduled for January to June 2026, with the total volume of excavated material expected to be approximately one million cubic meters, both in the port waters and in the approach channel.
Dredging is a core element of ERSAI’s long-term development strategy, which also includes the launch of a container terminal and the expansion of shipbuilding and ship repair capacities. The project’s implementation creates the preconditions for increasing cargo turnover, attracting transit flows along the Middle Corridor, and forming a sustainable foundation for further investment initiatives in the Caspian region.
