The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine considers Greece as a strategic partner in the restoration of port infrastructure and the development of maritime transport. During the Ukrainian-Greek business forum, Deputy Minister Maryna Denysiuk emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Greek ports of Thessaloniki and Alexandroupolis, which are already actively used as alternative routes for the export of Ukrainian grain in the context of the Black Sea blockade.

According to her, Greece, one of the world’s leading maritime states, is interested in strengthening ties with Ukraine in the field of shipping. Such a partnership is crucial not only for the economy of Ukraine, but also for supporting global food security.

Denysiuk also recalled the joint initiative with Estonia to create a Plan for the reconstruction of maritime communications in Ukraine with a total budget of over 550 million euros, which is already ready for presentation to the Greek side. The document provides for a large-scale upgrade of port infrastructure and logistics chains.

Representatives of ten Greek companies took part in the forum, in particular, Metlen Energy & Metals, GEK Terna, Onex Group and others. This demonstrates the interest of Greek business in the restoration of Ukraine and the possibility of deeper integration into international logistics projects.
