GTS launches Padua–Zeebrugge intermodal rail service.

GTS General Transport Service has started an intermodal rail connection between Padua in north-east Italy and Zeebrugge in Belgium, according to the company.

The service operates via the Interporto Padova terminal, which handles the Italian end of the connection. The initial timetable provides three round trips per week, with GTS planning to increase frequencies to five weekly rotations in the second quarter of 2026.

All loading profiles are accepted on the route except SR/P400. GTS also reports that UK customs procedures for cargo moving via the service can be handled directly at the Padua terminal.

The Padua–Zeebrugge connection extends GTS’s intermodal network between Italy and north-west Europe, adding a direct rail option between the Veneto region and the Belgian port and logistics hub.
