HHLA has completed the digitalisation of truck handling at its terminals in Hamburg.

Trucks at the container terminals of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) in Hamburg are now handled entirely digitally thanks to the implementation of the passify app. Following the successful launch at the Altenwerder Terminal (CTA), the transition to this innovative system has now been completed at all HHLA terminals in Hamburg. The app replaces the physical driver card, enabling safer and more efficient process management. Since the beginning of the year, more than 200,000 arrivals have already been processed using passify.

Passify was previously implemented at the HHLA Burchardkai (CTB) and Tollerort (CTT) terminals, and is now used by more than 13,000 drivers and transport companies. It enables time slot booking, registration and identity verification using two-factor authentication. HHLA Container Business Development Director Rebecca Vick noted that passify not only improves security and simplifies processes, but also sets a new standard for logistics digitalization.

The application was developed by HHLA Next and has become a key step in the development of the company’s digital technologies. passify is already in use at the HHLA terminal in Romania and is preparing for international expansion. According to Marcel Lindemann, co-founder of passify, the company’s goal is to make the application a global standard for simple and secure process management at terminals.
