Hungary and China strengthen logistics partnership.

A new logistics partnership between Rail Cargo Operator–Hungaria, Acemil Holding Zrt., and China’s Taitong International Transport Co., Ltd. aims to expand international freight connections and value-added services. The agreement was signed in Budapest on October 15, 2025, with senior representatives from all three companies and officials from both countries present.

The signing ceremony was attended by Imre Kovács, CEO of Rail Cargo Hungaria, and Chen Shuzeng, Secretary General of the CPPCC in China’s Hebei Province.

During the event, the partners discussed plans for a new freight rail connection linking Baoding, the capital of Hebei Province with 12 million inhabitants, to Budapest. The service would run along the southern transcontinental corridor, offering an alternative route to the European Union due to the situation at the Polish border crossing in Małaszewicze.

Taitong International already operates freight services from Baoding to Kazakhstan and neighboring regions. Under the new arrangement, shipments from China would continue via this proven route to Turkey, from where Rail Cargo Group would take over onward transport.

In his address, Chen Shuzeng welcomed the agreement, calling it “a new momentum for developing our partnership.” He expressed confidence that the cooperation would help create “an efficient, seamless, and stable new international logistics channel,” marking the start of a new era of Chinese-Hungarian business collaboration.
